Don't know much about cars but want to play forza motorsport 3?

i want to turn all of the help things off so that it is as realistic as possible, but since i have never driven in a real race before, things like stability control, anti-lock brakes, traction control, and shifting are foreign to me when it comes to how i am supposed to use them correctly. i don't want to know how to perfect driving in the game, but i want to know what these things are and things that i may not be aware of that i'm doing wrong.



for example, i don't really know what causes me to start spinning sometimes, i understand basic shifting but i'm not sure how to really utilize it to my advantage, i don't know how braking works when you turn, and how much of it you should do.



i've been playing games like burnout my entire life, so this is a huge change. this is more a question about the nature of cars than a question of how to play forza motorsport. any information will be appreciated.Don't know much about cars but want to play forza motorsport 3?
