If your asking which looks better, I have to say GT 5. I am a fan of both games, though, and so i feel compelled to throw in the fact that this is an unfare comparrison. In 2011 Forza 3 will be outranked by a 4th edition, this 4th edition should be the one to go head-to-head with GT5 if you want a comparrison on consoles. Also keep in mind that the display on a computer may be a bit misleading. PS3 and XBOX are both capable of 1080p so it is anyone's guess how the two will compare when it is all said and done. You can purchase a video capture card and plug your xbox into it and then your set. They sell usb versions and internal versions that go in your pci slots.

If you don't know, Forza Motorsport is a simulation racing game and it's an Xbox 360 exclusive. The point of this review is to give my thoughts on the game and to help people decide Forza is right for them.
First off I should tell you that there is a demo available on the marketplace which gives you a taste of what's to come. When you first start the game it'll ask you if you would like to install the additional content on the 2nd disc that ships with the package. It contains I think about 100 cars and some tracks and it will tax your hard drive 1.9GB so arcade owners or people short on space (like me) beware. You can play the game without installing the additional content just know that you'll be missing some stuff.
Pros
Graphics: Well I'm currently playing on a 21 inch standard def TV and I think it looks amazing. I absolutely think that it is quite possible to destroy your mind with the right video set up. The menus are clean and neat and is full of smooth, crisp transitions. It's a lot of white with the information you need to see popping out. Just think BBC news, if you know how that looks. I haven't unlocked all the cars in the game so I can't speak with definite authority but I think that they all feature interior views which gives you a a lot of viewing room unlike past games.
Content: More cars than you can shake a stick at. While this isn't a GT5 VS FM3 review I should mention that people may scoff and say "400 cars? GT has 8 or 900", but honestly, do you really need that much? I know I certainly don't because the cars that I want to take around the 'ring are here. (I used to play GT mind you)
Customization: The livery editor has been given a great update that makes it easier for designers to quickly edit and share content and believe you me, the work that some of these guys have on the online storefront is nothing short of sorcery I tell you. I have to acknowledge what these guys do, you'll be amazed, and the best part is that most of the designs are free (well for now anyway).
Gameplay: Forza is really a game that appeals to anyone. If you want to just hold the gas and steer a little or if you have a kid the assists make it possible. If you want more realism you can turn off all the assists, traction control, stability management and anti breaking system and race your heart out. It even has clutch shifting for manual transmission.
Cons: Forza isn't a totally fault free game. Some of the car interiors have gauges that don't work. From what I've observed, for cars with digital gauges, if your racing and their is an Xbox notification or you bring up the guide, the dash will flicker and look glitched. Another thing is the prices of upgrades, whole the prices of the cars aren't too shabby (and you get some pretty sweet free ones early on) it's the upgrades that drain your winnings. If you wanna take say an R34 Skyline and make it an S class car then you'd better be prepared to pay out the you know where. Again I'll say that I haven't even passed the 50% mark in the game so I don't know how money will be coming in later down but right now I'm sitting rather well with my winnings. If you wanna upgrade every car you get and buy every car at the onset just give it time, you'll waste your money and you may very well be awarded the same car you just bought. Online, well you don't have to look too far to see what other people are saying, but...meh, you'll either like it or hate it.
Overall I'll say that FM3 is a great game and it isn't deserving of the one stars that other people are giving it. For a game to be one star it has to be utter garbage, like say a movie tie in game that was made without effort. I'm pretty sure it refers to how fast the car is off the line. Since Forza 3 has implemented drag racing, that's an important rating.

Good: Great graphics, amazing career mode, lots of cars, great tracks, literally unlimited customization, cockpit view.
Bad: Cockpit view seems a little too close to the wheel, some races are just too hard, easy and medium are too easy while hard is almost impossible.

I have just purchased Forza 3 from a game shop in chippenham, I got the collectors pack which comes with a "game add-on content" sheet, which basically has a code on it, which when entered into the redeem code part of marketplace gives you 10 legendary cars from the first 2 games and 18 tracks, the problem is when i enter the code it says code not valid, does this mean tht someone has already used tht code?, the code is protected by the scratch off silver stuff so i dont know how they would have. what else could be causing this?Forza motorsport 3 problem?

I own GT5 and i have played Forza Motorsport once,so i can't judge properly.But as far as i know,GT5 is way better in simulation and for some people it is more polished and fun.Damage mode in GT5 may dissapoint you at first,but start leveling up and it gets better and better.I'm level 13 and i am now starting to really like it.What's more,premium cars' attention to detail is unmatched and at last,some of them can be tuned externally,though not so much as Forza.Also,car variety is damn good and there is weather.Drawbacks are standard cars which are a bit clumsy and have no cockpit camera,some races are just too difficult,multiplayer is limited and i feel like arcade mode is a bit left out.But the way cars behave is top of its (own) class.And this is the most important for me.I don't really care if there are some glitches or standard cars look a bit crap,i love driving,i am never bored.Imagine what will happen when i buy a steering wheel with pedals.Party time!Do you think forza motorsport 3 is better than gran turismo 5?
No I do not. GT5 has so many cars ranging from antiques to prototype cars. Courses that range all over the world with different scenery, also it's got a course editor which is so awesome to be able to make your own tracks. In GT5 it also has NASCAR's in it which pretty cool if you're into that. The real damage in GT5 is a helluva lot better as well.

I asked this same question too!!!! :O. I didn't get any good answers, but I have found out that the Audi S5 is the best car you can upgrade to A class. Many people won't like you for using it though. Many people consider it a broke PI car, because it's really fast and has about the same handling as other A class cars. Anyway the point is that car is amazing, but be warned you will not be liked or whatever because many people don't like it.
It also depends the track you are racing on. I have a certain car I use for Road Racing on the Le Mans track. Another one for the Rally De Positano track. It also depends on your tuning skills.

Need for Speed: Shift or Forza Motorsport 3?
I getting confused what racing game to buy for my Xbox 360. I really liked Forza Motorsport 2, it was great. I downloaded NFS Shift demo and it was really good, the graphics is way better than FM3, and driving is more exciting and more action. But Forza 3 is really great, the gameplay is more realistic despite the graphics that isn't better than Shift. But what I like about Forza is the customization. For me, both games looks impressive.

You can create your own paintjob or download a design online. You could probably search for a camo paint and a decepticon vinyl group, and then apply them to the car. You can edit the size of a downloaded graphic in the paint menu.
You are given a Viper ACR as you level up in the game's career mode. You will only be able to customize cars that you earn or buy through career, and not through the game's 'Free Play' mode.

In Forza Motorsport 3, How Do You Flip Your Vinyl Over Making It Upside Down?
all you do is click the vinyl then a menu for it will pop up click change position the hit RB until you reach the spin Button then spin it upside down ( if you use the analog stick to do this instead of the 4 way Button pad thing it will spin faster) then if you want to flip it more got to size and shrink passed 0 then it will go negative and if you keep going it will flip horizontally ( try it this will make more sense when you do ) ;)

What is Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection? Is it a new forza game or is it an add on?
I'll cut straight to the point, it's exactly the same as Forza 3 but includes all previous DLC, (cars+tracks) without needing to download anything, although for some WEIRD reason you get a DLC pack exclusively with the game to download 3 more cars from xbox Live (a Lexus,Mercedes-Benz and a Koenigsegg CCX) Pretty stupid as i don't know why they can't just be included on the disc too, isn't this the whole point of the ultimate edition? What i am wondering is if my save game from original Forza 3 will be compatible with Ultimate Edition (cars,money etc). Also i'd think the collectors edition + pre order exclusive cars would be included too (i hope so, i want ALL cars =D), but yeah i don't have access to Xbox Live so this is great for me, funnily enough i bought Forza 3 about a week ago and this just happens to come out, i'll probably buy this now. The pack was a promotion from Top Gear, i think you get a 90 minute Top Gear interview/episode with the game or on the disc (the DLC pack is called Stig's Garage). Heaps people are angry because they bought all the DLC and now the ultimate edition offers the 3 stig cars + 5-7 new cars with the edition itself (i forgot to mention), so if they want all the cars they have no choice but to buy the ultimate edition. I think it is around $30 (not bad) and is first available at around 26-30th October 2010.

hi, my friend just bought an xbox 360 elite with 2 games, forza motorsport 3 and halo 3 odst, now he loaned forza and halo to me, halo works fine, but disc 1 of forza wont read, it just says open tray, ive tried all my games and they all play except forza 3. even the installation disc works fine, it just tells me to insert disc 1, wich i did, and it still doesnt work...... i have an xbox 360 arcade with a 60 gb hard drive....it plays fine on his elite, maybe its the difference in the elite and the arcade? i dunno anyway please help me, thanks in advanced.Help with forza motorsport 3 360?

Forza Motorsport 3 not so good?
Is anyone else finding Forza Motorsport 3 not as good as they say it is? The Commercials made it look like a real simulation and a complete new experience to drive, but honestly, it is not all that good. Yeah it's fun to play and drive but I've noticed a lot of problems with the realism of the game. The crash damage is terrible. It reaches a certain point where your car cannot be hurt anymore, even if you crash into a wall at 200mph. Another is you can only look left and right in the cockpit which is a pain. Racing in street legal cars is only fun until you scrape paint, because honestly, who wants to drive a $200,000 Ferrari that's all banged up. And there is no night racing, no weather variations, and the absolute WORST part is that they made AWD cars faster off the line then RWD. Unless you have a perfect launch, that will never happen. Lastly, what is with that Dodge Challenger pullin a wheel stand off the drag strip line, far as I know, that's not possible either. I'm sorry Turn 10, but Forza 3 will be forgotten when Gran Turismo 5 comes out.Forza Motorsport 3 not so good?

Is drifting in Forza Motorsport 3 necessary?
Yeah drifting looks pretty cool and i have been teaching myself to drift, yeah it takes a while finding the right car and that but does it really give you an upper hand in a race? because i have seen lots of people drifting round corners and i have just gone round normally and flew straight past them and got a faster accelerate than them after the corner putting me a good second or two ahead. Forza Motorsport is an amazing game, and it is unparalleled by NFS: Shift in terms of graphics and game play.
I would highly recommend buying Forza; it has 400 cars and 50 car brands. Need for Speed has some glitches and flaws that get really annoying, and the load times are very long (even with it installed to my hard drive)

NFS Shift looks like fun, but Forza Motorsport 3 is more realistic. Also, NFS Shift doesn't have too many cars and tracks while Forza Motorsport 3 has tons!
forza 3 is 10x better. its way more realistic and you can customize your cars way more in depth than NFS Shift. and there r way more cars in forza. need for speed started to suck after pro street

In Forza Motorsport 1, there's a mode called "Drivatar". where not only you can train, but you can make custom races against computer drivers (AI's) where you can select cars you want to race against.
Where is that in Forza Motorsport 3 ? (not Forza motorsport 4, 3, the third, lol) When you finish all the races in career/campaign, there has to be something esle you can do. Plus, I rather race random cars, new random challenges.

Forza without a doubt.
Don't get me wrong, GT5 is a great game but it's just not at Forza 3's standard. The only thing it's got going for it are it's 200 good looking cars, which do look a bit better than Forza's cars but then again, the physics aren't as good...they still act like bumper cars, generally the graphics aren't as good except for those 200 cars (the trees/bushes are horrible, made up of only one or two polygons as opposed to fully 3d trees like in forza 3), the damage is disappointing (the headlights crumple instead of smash), 800 cars are not even worth using because they have no interiors and are ps2 standard graphically, the interface is bad, the load times are nasty, and so on.
And there are just loads of useless cars. There are actually identicle cars in the list that are apparently a different year's version when really everything is the same about them, they're straight up clones.
Forza is just more consistent and Forza 3 came out only 2 years after Forza 2 and it's 9/10 standard. What more can I say.

Well I have grown up playing the Gran Turismo Series and so far all have been Stellar. I have also played all the Forza games and loved them. Forza 3 so far is the best, A Truly amazing sim racer.
However some things I have heard about GT5 are really bothering me. For instance' they claim to have a 1000+ car list. But in reality 50% of those car's are Japanese cars and variations of the SAME car. Also only 200 of the car's (Most of which are Japanese) offer in cab driver perspective.
So I feel kind of like GT5 is cheating you to some degree by using the same model of car and just having a different variation of it, then claiming it as car all on its own.
Forza 3 for example offeres many car's from many different country's ALL of which offere the same depth in tuning and first person driver perspective.
Its really hard to say having not played GT5 yet. But hearing what I have about it has really lowered my expectations.

Forza without a doubt.
Don't get me wrong, GT5 is a great game but it's just not at Forza 3's standard. The only thing it's got going for it are it's 200 good looking cars, which do look a bit better than Forza's cars but then again, the physics aren't as good...they still act like bumper cars, generally the graphics aren't as good except for those 200 cars (the trees/bushes are horrible, made up of only one or two polygons as opposed to fully 3d trees like in forza 3), the damage is disappointing (the headlights crumple instead of smash), 800 cars are not even worth using because they have no interiors and are ps2 standard graphically, the interface is bad, the load times are nasty, and so on.
And there are just loads of useless cars. There are actually identicle cars in the list that are apparently a different year's version when really everything is the same about them, they're straight up clones.
Forza is just more consistent and Forza 3 came out only 2 years after Forza 2 and it's 9/10 standard. What more can I say.

50% of the cars arent variations,theres far more actual cars than forza. GT5 is level dependent, thats realistic. you wouldnt let someone who isnt good at driving get right behind the wheel of a ferrari now would you? same with damage, they make you wait until they know youll have the $ to fix stuff

Well I have grown up playing the Gran Turismo Series and so far all have been Stellar. I have also played all the Forza games and loved them. Forza 3 so far is the best, A Truly amazing sim racer.
However some things I have heard about GT5 are really bothering me. For instance' they claim to have a 1000+ car list. But in reality 50% of those car's are Japanese cars and variations of the SAME car. Also only 200 of the car's (Most of which are Japanese) offer in cab driver perspective.
So I feel kind of like GT5 is cheating you to some degree by using the same model of car and just having a different variation of it, then claiming it as car all on its own.
Forza 3 for example offeres many car's from many different country's ALL of which offere the same depth in tuning and first person driver perspective.
Its really hard to say having not played GT5 yet. But hearing what I have about it has really lowered my expectations.

I love this game. Like you i was skeptical about buying it. I'd never played Forza before, so i didn't know what to expect. What i got was realistic driving controls, a huge range of cars and tracks not to mention cars that can be fully customised. I love painting them, upgrading them and ragging it round the nurbergring. It's the first game ive been comfortable using the cockpit camera on. Also it has a cool damage and roll engine, i spend most races pit maneuvering everyone seeing if i can roll them. If you mean "plain track racing" as in NASCAR, then no. Its more road racing. It is a racing simulation though, so if you want arcade-style racing, try the Burnout series.

I own it and it is absoultly AMAZING the graphics are UNREAL and i dont even have a HD tv. The gameplay is very smooth and the engine sounds are very realistic loads of cars to choose. Only if you like cars should you get it but it is great. There are also tons of options to choose from to change your gameplay. If you are used to racing games it might be easy at first but once you play with the difficulties you can make it challenging.Is forza motorsport 3 a good game?

Well that depends on whether you like FPSs or racing games more. The single player campaign of ODST is only around 4 hours. You get all of the DLC maps for halo 3 on one disc, so if you play Halo online a lot that is good. Plus you get firefight mode, which is like horde on Gears of War. It isn't the greatest but is fun for awhile. Forza looks better and is much longer, but it can get repetitive. Online is good and it is easily the best racing sim on the 360. Does Target have Forza Motorsport 3 in stores?
It came out today but online it doesn't say anything about it being available in stores. I want it now, not in 7-10 business days, and I have a $20 gift card to Target, so I'd like to get it there if I could.Does Target have Forza Motorsport 3 in stores?

Umm...Ok Firstly you go onto Options and from there you click Shopping mode and then 'EXTRA HAPPINESS' and then you should get an new Option called ' PAR-TAY Mode ' now when you've done that you go to the grand Prix and fight elmo then tiger woods should come from the back and he asks you where his 'putter' is? then you reply yes you hand him a putter from no where then he says thank you and he'll reward you will 1000 silver coins but if you say no he hits you with his driver and it says you've been robed of 1000 gold coins and then you'll be able to create party's using PAR TAY mode :] Hope i helped

In Forza Motorsport 3 how come other players cars are faster than mine (multiplayer)?
I just wondered if anyone can tell me why in Forza 3 when I play a multiplayer game everyone elses car seems to be quicker than mine. I have only tried F class so far as i am new to the game but from what I can see all the cars a F200 yet they all semm to go quicker than me in strait lines etc

One reason why they might be faster than you is because they have a better tuned car, and ones that are also actually faster than other cars at F200, even though cars are supposed to be evenly fast if they're the same class, so some cars will go several tenths, or even seconds, faster than a car at the exact same class.
robert h's answer is also true, you should practice a lot, and you should do so on single player against AI, that way you don't get in the way of people playing online. You can select a lower difficulty in order to progress with cars at the same speed as you as well.
As to why other people's cars are faster in a strait line, they probably have their cars tuned to have more power than grip, so they go faster on the straits, but a little bit slower in the turns. They make up for being slow in the turns by being really good drivers, which just takes practice. try tuning ur transmission it worked for me with a Toyota trueno and Audi quattro . if ur using F thru D try a Renault clio they are fast in corners and they have good speed on the straights , its also very light .

How do you start cat and mouse in forza motorsport 3 for xbox 360?
you need roughly about 8 players or you can use the AI templates but all you need to do is rack up the players in your online lobby and press private match then go on to game settings and the move along to game modes and select cat %26amp; mouse :)

okay, first put in disc 1, soon it will prompt you to put in disc 2 in order to install extra cars and tracks. I want to get the ultimate editions of these games for someone for Christmas, and would like to know if multiplayer is still going on. I know Forza has plenty to do outside of that, but Battlefield really only has the campaign and multiplayer. How is it that the xbox 360 released 4 years ago can handle new games like forza motorsport 3 and cod 4 mw 2?
