That depends where you are at in the game. The best way is to get to driver level up and get a supercar. (e.g. Audi R8 V10) Get all gold in it's class tournament and you'll get some extra cash.



With the Audi, swap with the Le Mans R8 engine (in the conversion section) and remove the restrictors. Also, upgrade the transmission.

Next, upgrade the tires, brakes, and suspension. You don't want a 800hp car with the handling characteristics of a Ford Model T.



The car should now be R3. Tune the 4WD system so that the rear wheels get no less than 70% of the power, and no more than 90%. This is the same setup that I use.
